This was reported by the Center for Strategic Communications, using data from the Ukrainian General Staff. They also said that the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons confirmed that Russia is using chemical weapons against Ukraine — and doing it regularly.“It’s a type of tear gas that is banned in war. These chemicals were found in grenades used by the Russian army against Ukrainian troops,” the Center explained. They said this is already the third report from the OPCW confirming that Russia is breaking the Chemical Weapons Convention on purpose and in a planned way.“In May 2025 alone, the Russian army used dangerous chemical substances 888 times,” the General Staff reported. The Center also said that by doing this, Russia is trying to break down the international legal system. On June 15, the National Guard said Russia had been using chemical weapons in the Siversk area for the past three weeks.Because of this, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha called for creating new tools to help enforce the Geneva Protocol.
