Demining coalition secures €93 million for Ukraine in 2025

This was announced during the 14th meeting of the working group of the coalition member states, which took place in Reykjavik, according to the press service of the Ukrainian Defense Ministry.One of the main outcomes of the meeting was the detailing of proposals regarding the contributions of coalition member states for equipping and training demining units of the State Special Transport Service and the Support Forces Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine."Last year, we achieved a lot together: real capabilities were deployed on the ground; trained specialists are working in the most difficult conditions; equipment provided by partners saves lives every day," said Colonel Ruslan Berehula, Head of the Main Directorate for Mine Action, Civil Protection, and Environmental Safety, who led the Ukrainian delegation, during his speech at the meeting.He also thanked the governments of Iceland and Lithuania, which are the leading states of the DMCC, for their consistency and foresight in building the infrastructure needed for demining and the safe recovery of Ukraine.For reference: The Demining Capability Coalition of Ukraine was established in February 2024 as part of the work of the Ukraine Defense Contact Group.It includes 23 countries. In addition to Lithuania and Iceland, these are Belgium, Greece, Denmark, Estonia, Ireland, Spain, Italy, Latvia, Moldova, Germany, Poland, Slovakia, Hungary, France, Finland, Croatia, Czech Republic, Sweden, Japan, the United Kingdom, and, of course, Ukraine.It was previously reported that the members of the Demining Coalition will allocate €700 million to Ukraine for the purchase of demining equipment by 2034.
