Ukrainian forces strike Russian facility producing Shahed drone warheads in Moscow region

Ukraine's Armed Forces' General Staff and the Unmanned Systems Forces reported the information.The target was the JSC FSPC Research Institute of Applied Chemistry in Sergiyev Posad, Moscow region, located over 500 km from Ukraine’s border. The facility, part of the Russian state corporation Rostec, is under international sanctions and specializes in producing more than 500 types of pyrotechnic devices for missile, rocket-space, and artillery systems, as well as thermobaric warheads for Shahed drones.Operators from the 14th Separate UAV Regiment of the Unmanned Systems Forces carried out a targeted strike, resulting in a UAV hit, a fire, and heavy smoke at the facility.Additionally, a power substation supplying the company was reportedly damaged.“It has been confirmed that our means of destruction reached the target directly,” the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine stated.The Armed Forces emphasized that this operation is part of ongoing efforts to reduce Russia’s ability to conduct air strikes against Ukraine.“The defense forces continue to take all measures to undermine the enemy’s capabilities and force Russia to end its armed aggression,” the statement added.The results of the attack are being clarified.Explosions rocked ammunition depots near Khartsyzk late on July 2, as Ukraine’s Security Service (SBU) targeted a Russian rear base close to occupied Donetsk.
