Ukrainian drones hit Russian plant making Shahed, Iskander-K components — General Staff

This was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine."As part of reducing the enemy’s capacity to produce high-precision weapons, on the night of July 5, units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine’s Unmanned Systems Forces, in cooperation with other elements of the Defense Forces, struck a key military-industrial facility of the Russian aggressor — JSC 'VNIIR-Progress' (Cheboksary, Chuvash Republic, Russia)," the statement said.The main target was the plant’s capacities for producing Kometa adaptive antenna arrays.These components are critical for several types of Russian weapons actively used against Ukraine. In particular, they are used in Shahed-type unmanned aerial vehicles, Iskander-K missiles, and in unified planning and correction modules (UMPC) for guided air bombs (KABs)."It has been confirmed that the strike assets reached the target area. The results are being clarified," the General Staff added.On Saturday, July 5, Ukraine’s Special Operations Forces units, in cooperation with other elements of the Defense Forces, also struck the Borisoglebsk airfield in Russia’s Voronezh region.
