This was announced on the government's website.The United Kingdom has imposed sanctions on two individuals from Russia and a scientific research institute for their involvement in the transfer and use of chemical weapons against Ukraine.The individuals and entities added to the sanctions list are:Head of the Russian Radiological, Chemical, and Biological Defense Forces (RCBDF), Major General Alexey Rtishchev.Deputy Head of the RCBDF, Andrei Marchenko.Russian Scientific Research Institute of Applied Chemistry. The institute supplied Russian forces with grenades containing tear gas RG-Vo, which were used as a method of warfare against Ukraine, in violation of the Chemical Weapons Convention.The restrictions include a ban on entering the United Kingdom and the freezing of the assets of the listed individuals.On July 4, the intelligence services of the Netherlands and Germany stated that Russia had significantly increased the use of chemical weapons against Ukraine, including the deadly chloropicrin.
