This is stated in the report of the UN Human Rights Monitoring Mission in Ukraine.“In Ukraine, June saw the highest monthly civilian casualties in three years with 232 people killed and 1,343 injured,” the report says.According to the UN, this June Moscow increased the number of missile attacks and strikes tenfold compared to June 2024.“Virtually no region of Ukraine was spared, regardless of its distance from the frontline. Civilians were killed or injured in at least 16 regions of the country and the city of Kyiv,” the report states.In the first half of 2025, 6,754 civilians were killed in Ukraine—54% more than in the same period last year, when 4,381 people died. Over the past six months, the number of casualties increased by 17%, and the number of injured by 64%.“Civilians across Ukraine are facing levels of suffering we have not seen in over three years,” said Danielle Bell, head of the UN Monitoring Mission.The organization summarizes: since February 24, 2022, at least 13,580 civilian deaths have been documented, including 716 children, as well as 34,115 injured civilians, including 2,173 children.Ukraine has seen a sharp increase in the number of civilian deaths and injuries over the past six months (December 2024 – May 2025). Compared to the same period of the previous year, the number of casualties increased by 37%: 968 civilians were killed and 4,807 were injured.
