Vadym Denysenko, head of the analytical center Dzerkalo Tyzhnia, stated this on Espreso TV.“A ceasefire in 50 days will not happen. Putin will continue to try to advance. I hope he won’t succeed much. At the same time, we have one big question: we still don’t understand what Lavrov agreed on or didn’t agree on in Pyongyang. After all, at the moment, this is the only way for the Russians to get relatively large reserves without conducting mobilization,” Denysenko noted.According to the political analyst, if Lavrov failed in Pyongyang to agree on involving military personnel from North Korea, then Russia’s chances of advancing on the front by the end of the year are unlikely.“At the same time, two large-scale negotiation processes are beginning in the world—involving the U.S. and China, and the European Union and China. The only country that can really influence Russia is the People’s Republic of China. If the Europeans and especially the U.S. manage to make progress in these negotiations, I believe that one of their key points could be the real end of the war in Ukraine and pressure from China on the Russian Federation,” Denysenko summarized.Earlier, it was reported that Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi told a senior EU diplomat that his country cannot accept Russia’s defeat in the war in Ukraine. According to him, this would allow the U.S. to focus solely on Beijing.
