Ukraine's Air Force press service announced the development, noting that the F-16 is the most advanced Western aircraft Ukraine has awaited for a long time. To ensure its effective deployment, the country has created its first mobile maintenance complexes.The initiative was implemented by the Come Back Alive Foundation at the request of the Ministry of Defense and financially supported by the state-owned company Ukrnafta as part of “Project 61.”In response to the Air Force’s need for greater mobility — especially amid constant Russian attacks on aircraft and airfields — an autonomous F-16 maintenance system was created. It includes a mobile mission planning unit and two weapon preparation systems that dramatically simplify and accelerate the loading of munitions. While previously up to 12 personnel were required for the task, now just three are needed.Ukrnafta funded the project with over ₴49 million. The ecosystem is based on European expertise and tailored to the realities of wartime operations in Ukraine.On June 7, over Kursk, a Ukrainian F-16, aided by a Saab 340 AEW&C, likely shot down a Russian Su-35 for the first time.
