The Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported the meeting. This marks Sa’ar’s first visit to Ukraine as Israel’s top diplomat. During the meeting, the two ministers discussed a range of issues, including security cooperation, humanitarian and economic ties, innovation development, and joint projects.“Ukraine and Israel have significant potential in the field of defense technologies. It’s time to realize this potential together for the sake of our countries’ security and stability,” said Minister Sybiha.Special attention was given to regional security issues, particularly the peace process in the Middle East. Sybiha reaffirmed Ukraine’s consistent commitment to international law, the protection of civilians, and the search for just solutions. The ministers agreed to launch a strategic dialogue between Ukraine and Israel focused on the Iranian threat. According to Sybiha, both countries are currently facing shared security challenges. In light of these threats, the two ministers agreed to strengthen both bilateral and multilateral cooperation.“Iran and Russia pose an existential threat not only to our countries, but also to global security. Iran continues to destabilize the region, advancing its nuclear program and supplying weapons to terrorist groups,” Sybiha emphasized. He added that Moscow, Tehran, and Pyongyang have formed a unified axis of rogue regimes that support each other and threaten the free world.Sybiha also highlighted Ukraine’s interest in deepening cooperation with Israel in fields such as medicine, energy, agriculture, and cybersecurity. The meeting also addressed the importance of reviving the bilateral trade and economic cooperation commission and holding its next session. Additionally, the Ukrainian minister proposed restoring political consultations between the two foreign ministries for the first time since 2022.He also informed his Israeli counterpart that Ukraine’s Cabinet of Ministers had upgraded the status of the tomb of Rabbi Nachman in Uman from a local heritage site to a national cultural landmark. Sybiha expressed gratitude to Israel for its humanitarian aid, particularly for a water infrastructure project in southern Ukraine. Finally, the Ukrainian minister handed his counterpart a non-paper outlining Ukraine’s urgent need for modular shelters to protect civilians.A serious struggle for a new world order continues, American strikes on Iran’s nuclear sites restore the status quo, and Iran’s bombings of Israel occur not without Russia’s assistance.
