That’s according to Ukraine’s Center for Countering Disinformation, which posted a warning on Telegram Tuesday.“Russian propaganda is spinning yet another disinformation campaign aimed at discrediting Ukraine, this time through fabricated ‘testimonies’ of alleged torture of Russian POWs,” the statement said.According to the Center, the Kremlin has once again turned to a manipulative entity known as the “international tribunal to investigate the crimes of Ukrainian neo-Nazis” — an organization entirely created and controlled by Russia, with no international recognition or legal standing.“The published ‘testimonies’ follow a familiar script: a Russian soldier recounts brutal beatings and torture, but as always, there is no compelling evidence to support these claims. The man’s appearance in the video also contradicts the allegations of supposed ‘torture,’” the watchdog added. The Center emphasized that while international bodies continue to document well-substantiated cases of torture, executions, and abuse against Ukrainian POWs, Russia systematically exploits the issue for disinformation purposes. By pushing fabricated narratives, Moscow seeks to deflect attention from its own war crimes and undermine Ukraine’s reputation abroad.A new investigative report sheds light on the deadly attack that killed dozens of Ukrainian prisoners of war at Olenivka in July 2022, pointing to direct involvement by Russian armed forces and a lack of accountability from Russian authorities.
