For example, the recent crash of an An-24 in the Amur region killed all 49 people on board.Situation in Russia's maritime sectorRussia is being forced to decommission and scrap its only aircraft carrier, the Admiral Kuznetsov, which had been under repair for years and never became operational.This year, for the first time and without explanation, Russia canceled its main Navy Day parade in St. Petersburg — a traditional propaganda event.Sanctions have disrupted past supply routes to Kaliningrad. While maritime freight has increased, the logistics system is collapsing.Since sanctions were introduced in 2022, Russia has significantly increased spending on cargo transit to the Kaliningrad region — an exclave with no land connection to the rest of the country. Previously, most supplies passed through Lithuania, but this route is now heavily restricted due to quotas and sanctions.
