Zelenskyy speaks with Starmer

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has held talks with UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer on ensuring peace in Ukraine.

Details:On Saturday 9 August, Zelenskyy spoke with Starmer.
"I am grateful for the support. We both see the need for truly lasting peace for Ukraine and the danger of Russia's plan to reduce everything to a discussion of the impossible," he said.
Zelenskyy noted that clear steps are needed now, as well as maximum coordination with partners.
"We appreciate the determination of the UK, the United States and all partners to end the war. We are actively working for constructive diplomacy and to ensure that the decisions can work. We have agreed on further contacts," he added.

- Against the backdrop of the upcoming meeting between US President Donald Trump and Kremlin leader Vladimir Putin in Alaska on 15 August, as well as media outlet reports that Washington and Moscow allegedly want to reach an agreement to end the war in Ukraine, which could consolidate Russia's occupation of part of the territories seized during its full-scale invasion, Zelenskyy said that "the answer to the Ukrainian territorial question is already in the Constitution of Ukraine".
- The media outlets reported that American, Ukrainian and European officials want to meet in the United Kingdom to coordinate their positions ahead of the Trump-Putin summit.
