Undoubtedly, this is an important day for both countries. A long-standing conflict is finally coming to an end. Here, I want to highlight a few key aspects, in my opinion.First — both countries will get a chance for peaceful coexistence, and it’s crucial whether they can take advantage of it. Armenia will finally stop being a transportation dead-end, gaining access to the Turkish market, which will positively impact its economy and create conditions for active cooperation with Turkey. Azerbaijan will reaffirm its status as an influential regional power. But more importantly, this marks Russia’s loss of exclusive rights in the region, signaling a new stage in the development of the South Caucasus. This is a unique moment—practically the first since Russian troops arrived in the region three centuries ago.SourceAbout the author.
