The press service of Ukraine's Ministry of Energy reported the information.“The External Crisis Center is an integral part of the plant’s safety system. Under conditions where the occupying management of ZNPP is blocking the automatic transmission of data on the nuclear and radiation situation through the IAEA’s IRMIS system, it is the specialists of this center who carry out continuous monitoring of the radiation environment in the observation zone on the territory controlled by Ukraine,” the statement says. There were no casualties among the staff; however, the ministry emphasized that this attack was yet another demonstration of Russia’s irresponsible and dangerous policy and creates risks for all of Europe.“An attack on infrastructure that monitors the radiation situation is further proof of the aggressor’s irresponsible policy, which disregards all norms of international law. The Russians once again demonstrate that their actions pose a real threat to nuclear safety not only for Ukraine but for the entire European continent,” commented the head of the agency, Svitlana Hrynchuk. The Ministry of Energy stressed the need for the complete demilitarization of the plant and its return to Energoatom’s control, and called on the international community to strengthen sanctions and secure an end to the shelling of nuclear infrastructure. On July 4, Russia once again cut off power to the Zaporizhzhia NPP, but Ukrenergo specialists restored the operation of the high-voltage line.
