Defense Express reports. At such a distance, the soldier fired from a Snipex Alligator rifle of 14.5 mm caliber. The shot eliminated two Russian occupiers in the Pokrovsk direction. The Snipex Alligator rifle is produced by the Kharkiv-based company XADO-Holding. It is a magazine-type rifle which, with a 14.5 mm caliber and a barrel length of 1,200 mm, provides an initial bullet velocity of 980–1000 m/s.The weight is 25 kg. With a lighter rifle, the recoil would be much more noticeable, even considering the muzzle brake and the recoil spring in the stock. At the same time, in 2021 the manufacturer stated that the effective range of the Alligator was 2 km, and the weapon itself was positioned as a means of targeting inanimate objects.Experts explain that 4 km is by no means the limit for this rifle. In fact, a bullet fired from it can travel up to 7 km. However, the main limiting factor is accuracy: at a distance of 1.5 km, the deviation from the target may reach a circle about one meter in diameter. Therefore, at a distance of 4 km, it likely took a series of shots to achieve an accurate hit.The previous record also belonged to Ukrainians. Recently, a soldier of an SBU unit eliminated an occupier at a distance of 3,800 meters with a Ukrainian-made rifle, the Volodar Obriyu ("Lord of the Horizon").
