He said this in an interview with RBC-Ukraine.“I believe in the wisdom and professionalism of our diplomats. But despite all future guarantees and the negotiation process, we must constantly prepare for war, for its continuation by Russia, or for a new conflict initiated by them. Even if peace is reached or the war is frozen, we must continuously strengthen the army’s combat capability, learn from the war’s experience, analyze it thoroughly, and build the most modern, powerful, high-tech army,” said Syrskyi. He believes Russia can recover quickly, so Kyiv must be ready, as the war could resume at any moment.“The threat remains. Russia has not abandoned its intent to seize all of Ukraine,” emphasized the Commander-in-Chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. He mentioned the so-called May ceasefire, during which Russian forces moved artillery and drone units to the front line — something they could not do during active combat. Afterward, they regrouped and immediately launched offensive actions. At the same time, Syrskyi dismissed Moscow’s claims that Russia could fight for 5–10 years, calling it bravado. The Commander-in-Chief stated that the Russian army is currently redeploying its units from the Sumy to the Zaporizhzhia direction, where the Russians plan active combat operations.
