Lieutenant Colonel Viktor Trehubov, spokesperson for Ukraine's Operational Command Dnipro, shared the information on Espreso TV.“Russian troops continue to press along the entire front line, with the highest intensity of combat in the Pokrovsk, Novopavlivka, and Lyman sectors, but basically everywhere. Even in relatively quiet areas, there are constant Russian infiltrations. Russia’s summer campaign is in full swing. The situation remains quite difficult,” said Viktor Trehubov. He added that over a week ago, Russian forces were redeployed to the Zaporizhzhia direction.“In the Pokrovsk sector, Russian advance toward Dobropillia was stopped in time, preventing a negative scenario. However, this situation arose due to a shortage of our personnel and the large number of Russian forces in this area, allowing the Russians to infiltrate the first line and push further than they themselves expected. They eventually reached Azov and were repelled by other units, suffering defeat. But the very accumulation and breakthrough of Russian forces is an unpleasant warning,” commented the spokesperson for Operational Command Dnipro. On August 9, DeepState reported Russian forces are attacking Dobropillia with the 132nd Separate Motorized Rifle Brigade, made up mostly of residents from temporarily occupied parts of Donetsk region and migrants from Central Asia.On August 12, Commander-in-Chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces Oleksandr Syrskyi ordered additional forces and resources to be deployed to detect and destroy Russian sabotage groups in the Pokrovsk sector. As of August 13, it was reported that Russian infantry groups that had advanced near Dobropillia were being detected and destroyed by the Ukrainian Defense Forces. On August 16, Ukrainian Armed Forces officer, Lieutenant Colonel Serhiy Tsekhotskyi, reported on Russian attempts to break through in the Pokrovsk sector, saying clearing of Russian sabotage groups was ongoing and the situation was under control.
