Axios reports. On September 11, Senators Lindsey Graham, Richard Blumenthal, Amy Klobuchar, and Katie Britt introduced the bill. According to the document, the U.S. will designate Belarus and Russia as state sponsors of terrorism if Moscow does not return 19,000 abducted Ukrainian children.Graham said it was hard to get on that list but added that Russia had earned the right to be there. He noted that they would ask leaders of both parties to give them a chance to discuss and vote on the measure.Currently, under U.S. law, the states designated as sponsors of terrorism are Cuba, Iran, Syria, and North Korea.Graham also noted that he was working to involve the White House in a separate bipartisan bill on sanctions against Moscow, which has more than 80 co-sponsors.He said they would try to open another front against Putin’s Russia, that the Russians had invaded Ukraine and had abducted an estimated 19,546 Ukrainian children far from their families, and he argued that the proper response was to do something about it.It was earlier reported that Republican Senator Lindsey Graham is demanding Moscow return 19,000 abducted Ukrainian children; otherwise, he will initiate a bill to designate Russia as a state sponsor of terrorism.
