Ukrainian forces strike Saratov, Novokuibyshevsk refineries in Russia

The Ukrainian Armed Forces' General Staff reported the information.The General Staff noted that the Saratov refinery accounts for approximately 2.54% of the total oil refining volume in the Russian Federation (over 7 million tons of oil annually)."Explosions and a large-scale fire were confirmed in the target area. The final results of the strike are being clarified," the statement says.The Novokuibyshevsk refinery, located in the Samara region of the Russian Federation, processes over 8.8 million tons of oil per year."According to preliminary information, explosions and a fire were recorded at the facility as a result of the strike. Details are being clarified," the General Staff noted.In addition, units of the Special Operations Forces carried out a fire strike on a main transport infrastructure facility – the Samara linear production and dispatch station (LPDS).The Samara LPDS is a production station where high- and low-sulfur oil from various fields is mixed to form the Urals export grade of oil (up to 50% of the total export volume of the Russian Federation).The General Staff emphasized that all the affected facilities are involved in supplying the Russian Armed Forces.On September 18, Ukrainian drones struck the Gazprom neftekhim enterprise and the Volgograd refinery in Russia.
