He made the statement in New York during the high-level General Debate of the UN General Assembly, Espreso reports.Donald Trump stressed that in seven months he had halted seven wars “which everyone said were impossible to stop.”“Some of them lasted 30 years, 31 years, 36 years, one of them lasted 29 years. I stopped seven wars. In those wars, hundreds of thousands of people were killed. This includes Cambodia, Thailand, Congo, Rwanda, Pakistan and India, Israel and Iran, Egypt and Ethiopia, Armenia and Azerbaijan. No president or prime minister, no country has ever done anything like this in history. I did it in just seven months. Nobody has ever managed that before,” Trump said.“I ended seven wars, dealt with the leaders of each and every one of these countries, and never even received a phone call from the United Nations offering to help in finalizing the deal,” he said. “All I got from the United Nations was an escalator, that on the way up, stopped right in the middle,” Trump said.At the same time, he criticized the UN for inaction. He noted that he had not thought about his contribution because he was busy ending wars.“I hadn’t thought about it before, because I was working on ending these wars and saving millions of lives. And now I realize the UN didn’t help us. They didn’t take part in the negotiations, which were difficult. So the question is: what is the UN’s mission?” the president said. “The UN has such tremendous potential. I’ve always said it. All they seem to do is write a really strongly worded letter and then never follow that letter up. It’s empty words, and empty words don’t solve war. The only thing that solves war and wars is action,” Trump added. He added that he deserves the Nobel Peace Prize.“Everyone says that I should get the Nobel Peace Prize for each one of these achievements. But for me, the real prize will be the sons and daughters who live to grow up with the mothers and fathers, because millions of people are no longer being killed in endless and glorious wars. What I care about is not winning prizes, it’s saving lives,” Trump summed up.
