Igor Aizenberg, professor at Manhattan University (U.S.), said this in an interview with Espreso TV.“I don’t see Trump agreeing to restore financial and economic aid to Ukraine, or to provide new military assistance. There are still weapons and ammunition that Ukraine should continue receiving at least throughout next year. These were paid for by the Biden administration under the Ukraine Security Assistance Initiative—around $5.5–6 billion. The contracts were placed with companies to produce weapons and ammunition specifically for Ukraine. Deliveries will continue as production is completed,” he said.Aizenberg stressed that the key issue is ensuring Trump does not halt these supplies.“As for financial and economic aid, unfortunately, a Trump administration will not provide it. That burden will fall on European countries, because no one else can step in. This is a problem, since U.S. aid has been significant—around $10 billion annually directly transferred into Ukraine’s budget, covering, for example, healthcare and education, not to mention humanitarian aid for restoring damaged infrastructure such as power grids,” the professor concluded.Since Russia’s full-scale invasion began three and a half years ago, Ukraine has received over $145 billion in international financial assistance, Finance Minister Serhiy Marchenko reported.
