The Russians abducted the child and continue their assault, holding her as a hostage to prevent Ukrainian forces from opening fire,” the Third Army Corps reported.They emphasized that the war crime is being recorded in real time by their units.“All radio intercepts point to the premeditated nature of the enemy’s actions,” the corps added.Ombudsman’s reactionUkraine’s Ombudsman Dmytro Lubinets responded to the Russian soldiers' actions.“Such actions are a blatant violation of international humanitarian law, the Fourth Geneva Convention on the protection of civilians, and the laws and customs of war. Killing civilians and using a child as a human shield is a war crime and a crime against humanity for which there is no justification,” Lubinets stressed.He added that he has already sent official letters to the UN and the ICRC.“The international community must respond immediately to Russia’s brutal crimes,” Lubinets added.
