This opinion was expressed on Espreso TV by military expert Dmytro Sniehyriov.“The information concerned not only Tomahawks but also the expanded exchange of intelligence data. What does that mean? The United States has made it clear to Russia that targeting will be provided directly by American intelligence agencies — clearly, firmly, and specifically. The Tomahawks will receive U.S. targeting coordinates. And a third point about the Tomahawks: a controlled leak stated that American specialists will service these cruise missiles. That effectively means direct U.S. involvement in the war on Ukraine’s side,” he said.Sniehyriov explained the significance of this message.“Trump made it clear that all of Russia’s rhetoric about his personal responsibility and ‘adequate responses’ is being dismissed by Washington from the outset. And what was the dictator’s response? Merely that Russia will strengthen its air defense systems — not even commenting on the transfer of Tomahawks itself. He understands now that no one will take his threats seriously. The fact is clear: if you don’t sit down at the negotiating table — Tomahawks will be in Ukraine,” the expert noted. He added that the missile transfer will depend on the outcome of the Trump–Putin meeting.“Trump is keeping the joker in his sleeve as a lever of tough military pressure. And it’s not only about Tomahawks. Alongside this, the U.S. is scaling up production of long-range strike drones — with a range of 1,600 km, similar to the Tomahawk, and a 45-kg warhead. They are beyond the reach of Russian air defenses. That’s a signal — and a powerful one.Look further: the U.S. is urgently transferring F-35s to Belgium, and what does Belgium do? It gives Ukraine 30 F-16s. Meanwhile, the U.S. supplies Ukraine with ERAM missiles with a 450-km range. That’s the beauty of the game — a firm, unprecedented show of military pressure,” Sniehyriov concluded. On October 17, Presidents Zelenskyy and Trump met at the White House. The talks focused on increasing pressure on Russia to achieve peace. However, the two sides did not reach an agreement on supplying Ukraine with long-range Tomahawk missiles. Trump emphasized that he would first like to speak again with Putin.
