This is stated in an analysis from October 24.According to the analysis, DPRK forces could have suffered over 6,000 casualties in offensive combat operations against Ukrainian forces in Russia's Kursk region, which constitutes more than half of the approximately 11,000 DPRK military personnel deployed there.Citing the Ukrainian Armed Forces' General Staff, UK intelligence also reported on how DPRK military personnel in Russia's Kursk region are coordinating intelligence and facilitating Russian strikes against Ukraine."This is the first time DPRK troops have been reported as directly supporting or facilitating Russian offensive operations into sovereign Ukrainian territory," the intelligence report stated. Specifically, the analysis noted that DPRK drone operators are assisting Russian forces by using multiple launch rocket systems to strike Ukrainian positions in Ukraine's Sumy region."Whilst DPRK forces highly likely conducted tactical UAS strikes and reconnaissance UAS operations against Ukrainian forces in Russia's Kursk region previously, their primary role was as infantry conducting offensive combat operations against Ukrainian forces within Kursk," UK intelligence noted. The analysis also stated that North Korea is likely seeking to use the opportunities provided by the conflict to improve its combat capabilities, including its drone operation skills.Latest Defence Intelligence update on the situation in Ukraine - 24 October 2025.Find out more about Defence Intelligence's use of language: https://t.co/dPSeIiCZjk#StandWithUkraine pic.twitter.com/yu9vfXzneX— Ministry of Defence ????????
