Viktor Petrovych, a serviceman of the 77th Separate Airmobile Brigade, stated this on Espreso TV."The situation in the Kupiansk direction remains difficult. The Russian army has been constantly pressing us for a long time, currently in small groups. The Russian troops are not using equipment at the moment, but we are preparing for the possibility that it may appear in our sector. We are fighting back and are currently holding our ground quite firmly in our area of responsibility," noted Viktor Petrovych.According to the serviceman of the 77th Separate Airmobile Brigade, Kupiansk is a strongpoint and a crossing that holds the northern salient beyond the Oskil River."Kupiansk creates a pressure zone, so the Russian forces feel less free on the left bank of the river. Because Kupiansk was recaptured and the Russian troops were driven out, the situation has improved: it is now more difficult for the Russian army to press us because they have to stabilize their position and control different directions," added Viktor Petrovych. On December 12, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy made a working trip to Kupiansk in the Kharkiv region, where he visited the forward command post of the 14th Separate Mechanized Brigade named after Prince Roman the Great.
