The press officer of the Rubizh brigade, Major Maksym Taran, said this on Espreso TV."The situation in the Siversk sector is extremely difficult. Russian troops are trying to break through our defensive lines, using all available firepower to destroy our positions. This includes artillery, airstrikes, attack drones, Mavic drone drops, heavy bomber strikes, and direct assaults by small tactical groups. Over the past two weeks, the enemy has also been using a tactic involving 'disposable soldiers'—groups of troops carrying explosive devices, sometimes even without weapons or protective gear like body armor or helmets. They attempt to approach our positions through wooded areas to avoid detection, then try to run up one by one and throw an explosive device—usually an anti-tank mine (TM)—to destroy our trenches or dugouts," he said.Maksym Taran noted that, as a rule, one Russian soldier usually manages to reach the position and create problems for the Ukrainian defenders."Typically, five, six, or seven people attempt this each day. Out of six or seven, we eliminate five, but one usually manages to get through and causes us significant trouble. The enemy is also heavily focused on disrupting our logistics, conducting strikes with fiber-optic drones and developing their capabilities in this area, including with FPV drones. This is a very challenging sector. The attacks are not letting up—they are getting stronger each time. That’s why the Rubizh Brigade is holding these positions and destroying the enemy to prevent them from advancing further," he said.Maksym Taran also noted that electric bikes are crucial not only for combat missions but also for silently evacuating wounded Ukrainian soldiers."Electric bikes are essential for the fighters of the Rubizh Brigade because they help us evacuate the wounded, conduct rotations, reinforce and support infantry on the front line, and deliver ammunition. Sometimes, positions are very close to the enemy and the terrain is difficult, making it impossible to drive there. Heavy armored vehicles are too noisy and easily detected. Electric bikes can move through these areas silently—you can’t hear them. We can quietly reach our positions, rotate personnel, or evacuate the wounded. That’s why electric bikes save lives and help our infantry. We are grateful to everyone who supports us. It is very important—thank you," said Maksym Taran.Over the course of July 9, 20 clashes occurred on the Russian-Ukrainian front. In the Pokrovsk sector, Ukrainian troops stopped 61 aggressor attacks.
