The Telegraph reports.Xi Jinping, the President of China, stated that the two countries should "strengthen mutual support in multilateral forums" following his meeting with Russia’s Foreign Minister in Beijing.On Monday, U.S. President Donald Trump warned that he would impose 100 percent tariffs on Russia's primary trading partners, including China, if Vladimir Putin does not agree to a peace deal within 50 days.Xi stated after his meeting with Sergei Lavrov on Tuesday that trust between China and Russia had "deepened," and the two nations were "setting a model for a new type of international relations."Beijing, which is both a diplomatic and economic ally of Moscow, maintains that it is neutral in the conflict between Russia and Ukraine.Earlier this month, China’s Foreign Minister emphasized that Russia cannot afford to lose the war, as Beijing fears that Washington would then focus its attention on China, according to leaked reports from a meeting with EU officials.
