Russia claims drone strikes on key railway sites in Rostov region

The Telegram channel ASTRA reports this.According to their data, between 9:00 p.m. and 11:40 p.m. on July 22, Russian air defenses allegedly shot down:28 drones over Bryansk region,10 over Kursk,6 over Rostov,4 over Oryol,and one each over Kaluga, Tula, and Lipetsk regions.NovocherkasskAt the same time, residents of Novocherkassk in the Rostov region reported explosions and a drone attack. Videos and photos circulated on social media, which users claimed showed strikes near the railway station and the Novocherkassk thermal power plant.According to eyewitnesses, after the strike in Novocherkassk, railway crossing traffic was blocked, causing a traffic jam.Later, Andriy Kovalenko, head of Ukraine's Center for Countering Disinformation, confirmed that the railway infrastructure used by the Russian military-industrial complex and army was attacked that night in Novocherkassk, Rostov region.He said this logistics hub connects strategic directions: Rostov-on-Don, Voronezh, Volgograd, Kamensk-Shakhtinsky. It is through this hub that equipment, ammunition, fuel, and personnel are transferred to the border with Ukraine.Kovalenko also reported that logistics units of the 1061st Material and Technical Support Center of the Russian Southern Military District, responsible for distributing weapons, fuel, and ammunition, operate in Novocherkassk.“Hubs like Novocherkassk are arteries that feed Russia’s war machine. Without them, frontline supplies stop,” emphasized the head of the Ukrainian Center for Countering Disinformation.TaganrogAccording to the Russian Telegram channel SHOT, at least two to five explosions were heard in the suburbs of Rostov-on-Don, and at least five more in Taganrog.Eyewitnesses reported seeing flashes in the sky and hearing engine noises resembling drones. It is believed that Russian air defense systems were used against Ukrainian Liutyi drones reportedly flying at low altitude.Currently, there is no official information about casualties or damage.
