The SBI press service reported this.They said the crash happened in the evening of July 22 at an airfield in Volyn during a combat flight mission.Preliminary findings show that after takeoff, the pilot reported a critical electronics failure to the flight controller. The jet went down in an uninhabited area and sank in a flooded crater in a swamp. The pilot’s quick actions helped avoid casualties and destruction on the ground.The pilot ejected in time and was quickly located by a search and rescue team. According to the SBI, his condition is stable and he has received medical care.The case is now being investigated under the article related to flight rule violations or their preparation, which led to the crash.Right after the crash, investigators and operational staff from the SBI’s Lviv territorial department arrived at the site. A special investigative team was formed from officers of the territorial and central offices who have experience handling military aviation disasters.Investigators have already inspected the crash site, seized official documents and other material evidence, and questioned witnesses. More interrogations, technical inspections, and decoding of the flight recorder are planned.The investigation is focusing on the technical condition of the aircraft, compliance with flight prep procedures, and oversight by responsible personnel.At the same time, an internal military probe is underway to determine all factors that may have led to the emergency.“The case is under special control of SBI leadership, considering the strategic importance of aviation safety under martial law,” the Bureau emphasized.On the evening of July 22, the Ukrainian Air Force said that a Mirage-2000 fighter jet experienced an equipment failure during a flight mission. A special commission has been set up to find out what caused the crash.
