Reuters reported the information, citing its own sources. The United States, NATO countries, and Ukraine are developing a new mechanism to provide American weapons to Kyiv. Under this system, Ukraine will create lists of its priority needs (Priority Ukraine Requirements List, PURL) worth up to $500 million, while Alliance partners, coordinated by Secretary-General Mark Rutte, will decide who will finance or supply the necessary arms.According to a source, allies plan to provide Ukraine with $10 billion worth of weapons through the new mechanism. Delivery timelines have not yet been specified. It is noted that if a NATO country transfers weapons to Ukraine, the new mechanism allows it to quickly replenish its stockpiles in the U.S., bypassing lengthy procedures. To do this, the country must pay the United States in advance. The source also said allies can directly pay for arms deliveries to Ukraine through NATO or the U.S. Department of Defense. On August 1, a bipartisan pair of U.S. senators introduced a bill to provide tens of billions of dollars in aid to Ukraine over the next two years.
