Ukraine’s General Staff reported the information. These are structures made of stretched nets that create a barrier for FPV drones and allow for the safe movement of personnel, equipment, weapons, wounded soldiers, and civilian transport. Fishing nets are most often used for their construction — they are durable and inconspicuous to Russian operators.According to Captain Vitalii Kosobutskyi, who is currently on a mission with his brigade, “a significant amount of netting material is needed to build a shelter with side and top protection.” “The coverage area depends on the length and size of the structure, so the total area can reach several thousand square meters. Considering the standard size of the nets, a large number of linear meters must be prepared,” he explained. After construction, the “anti-drone tunnels” require regular maintenance and support. The work is carried out by a team of several people, including airspace observers. Military engineers work under constant protection to ensure their safety. These structures are often called “corridors of life” because they significantly reduce the fire impact of FPV drones.Kosobutskyi noted that tens of kilometers of such corridors have already been set up in the border areas, some allowing the movement of trail vehicles with equipment. On August 5, it became known that Ukrainian intelligence operatives from the Tymur Special Unit of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine successfully halted a Russian advance in the Sumy direction.
