Valerii Riabykh, Defense Express development director and military expert, stated this on Espreso TV.He was responding to a question about the reduction in attacks on Kyiv and the smaller number of strike drones launched by the Russian forces.“There is a set of factors here, and it’s worth noting that the decrease in the number of strike drones of the Shahed type being used is related to certain things alongside the narrative that the Russians allegedly significantly increased production of such drones — they stockpiled them and carried out many strikes, over 2,500 strikes per month,” Riabykh said.He emphasized that the number of these strikes has now decreased by about half.“Here we should recall the targeted actions of the Defense Forces, which hit a number of enterprises in July involved in the Shahed production cycle. First and foremost, for example, the Kometa units and several other bottlenecks that enable the scaling up of mass production of these drones,” the expert said.In his view, this may be the primary reason for the reduced availability of drones.“We should also note the strike on Yelabuga, where an enterprise producing drones was hit — or, as evidence suggests, it was a finished-goods warehouse where a large batch of such drones could have been stored. Before that, we also had good news about the destruction of several drone storage sites, and all of this is deliberate action. And this could be why Kyiv is relatively safe, and the enemy, needing to economize, is allocating them to more relevant tasks,” Riabykh concluded.
