President Volodymyr Zelenskyy told reporters, according to LIGA.net, that China cannot assume security guarantees for Ukraine, as a country that supported the aggressor cannot take on such obligations.“First, China did not help us stop this war from the very beginning,” Zelenskyy said, recalling that Beijing took no action when Russia occupied Crimea. He also noted that China supplied Russia with drones, which were used against Ukraine.“That is why we do not need guarantors who do not help Ukraine and did not help us when we really needed it after February 24,” the president emphasized. Zelenskyy added that Ukraine requires security guarantees only from countries prepared to provide real assistance.Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov claimed that Moscow allegedly supports providing Ukraine with security guarantees, but that Kyiv must abandon its intention to join NATO.
