Oleh Rybachuk, head of the NGO Center for Joint Actions and Ukraine's Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration (2005), said this on Espreso TV."In reality, events have occurred that have fundamentally changed the world we live in. And things will not be as they were—particularly concerning the understanding of security and the role of the U.S. in this system. We have to be honest: Donald Trump will not be the leader of the Western world that we can rely on as the most powerful member of NATO. There is no doubt that Trump is a frankly weak president, and he will not dare to impose any sanctions," Rybachuk emphasized.According to the politician, Europe has already realized that the issue of security is primarily the responsibility of Europeans themselves. Currently, a formula is in effect whereby Trump sells American weapons, which are supplied to Ukraine, using European funds."Ukraine must plan its future in an alliance with those countries that understand Russia well. The President of Finland put it very aptly: if we provide guarantees to Ukraine, we must realize that the countries providing these guarantees must be prepared to enter into a direct armed conflict in the event of a violation by Russia," Rybachuk noted. The politician summarized that a certain selection of countries is now taking place—those that understand this and are ready to enter into an armed conflict with Russia, realizing that nothing else will stop it."Everything else is just fine-sounding ritual gestures and statements," Rybachuk added.Russian dictator Vladimir Putin accused the West of "destructive steps to undermine dialogue on nuclear weapons" and stated that Moscow is ready to respond with "military-technical measures to strategic threats."
