Russian strike damages church in Lviv

The Church of the Dormition of the Holy Mother of God in Lviv, which belongs to the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church (UGCC), was badly damaged in last night's Russian missile and drone strike.

Details: The church sustained heavy damage from a blast wave which shattered windows and sent shrapnel tearing through the walls and roof. The bell tower has been almost completely destroyed, and both a funeral chapel and a Sunday school building in the parish grounds have been badly affected.

Metropolitan Archbishop Ihor of Lviv has visited the site, offering words of support to the clergy and parishioners and assuring them of his prayers. He emphasised the unity and resilience of the community amid this trial.

Background:
Four people were killed in Lviv Oblast as a result of the latest combined Russian attack involving UAVs and cruise missiles.
