Defense Express CEO Serhiy Zgurets stated this on Espreso TV.“A ceasefire in the air—or any kind of ceasefire with Russia—is a rather fleeting concept. While the specific terms might be unclear, it’s obvious that trying to negotiate a truce with Russia, given their tactics and behavior both on and off the battlefield, is simply unrealistic. We’ve already witnessed that any agreement with Russia is almost certain to be broken the very next day because of their deceitful actions,” Zgurets emphasized.According to the Defense Express CEO, in theory, it is possible to negotiate separately with Russia about banning strikes using cruise missiles, unmanned systems, or FPV drones. But in practice, this is hardly realistic.“We see that now, on the Russian side, various types of strike systems with different ranges are being actively used. Likewise, on the Ukrainian side, the number of attacks is increasing, as is their effectiveness. In just the last two weeks, we have seen strikes on Crimea using drones of various types. We are also observing strikes on the enemy’s logistics, particularly in the Rostov and Volgograd regions, and on railway lines. At least 13 strikes have been recorded on Russian railways, which the enemy uses to supply units in the Donetsk and Luhansk directions. This is a new chapter in the work of our unmanned systems, which have significantly expanded their capabilities and are now blocking the use of railways as a key logistical resource for Russian defense,” Zgurets noted. He added that even if the use of drones is temporarily halted now, the accumulation of these systems on both sides will still continue. And after some time, when the ceasefire is broken—which is almost guaranteed—these systems will again be used en masse.“Therefore, the consequences of a temporary ceasefire in the air are unlikely to significantly affect the overall dynamics at the front. The cumulative effect of the accumulated unmanned systems will manifest itself on the battlefield in any case,” Zgurets summarized. The U.S. president will sit down for talks with Russian dictator Vladimir Putin, but only if Putin first agrees to meet with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
