This situation forces Baku to take retaliatory measures. All of this will inevitably lead to a further deepening of the crisis in bilateral relations,” the statement said.Russia targets Azerbaijan’s oil, gas supplies to UkraineOn the night of August 7–8, 2025, Russian forces attacked an oil depot of the Azerbaijani company SOCAR in Ukraine’s Odesa region. Russia deployed five Shahed attack drones on the SOCAR depot, causing a fire and damaging a diesel pipeline. Four company employees were seriously injured. This was the second attack in recent weeks on Azerbaijan-linked facilities in Ukraine.Before this, a gas distribution station near the village of Orlivka in the Reni city community, Odesa region, was attacked. This station is a key part of the Trans-Balkan pipeline, through which Azerbaijani gas began flowing to Ukraine for the first time on June 28.
