Ukraine’s ambassador to Poland, Vasyl Bondar, stated this on Espreso TV."Poland is not just among the top ten countries critical to Ukraine’s survival in this war—it is in the top three. While attention often focuses on the global scale, such as who supplies what and how Ukraine is supported during the conflict, none of this would have been possible without Poland. Additionally, millions of Ukrainians who found refuge in Poland from the very first days of the war and now live there contribute significantly to the Polish state, supporting themselves while also aiding Ukraine," he said.Bondar emphasized that Poland was one of the first countries to provide military assistance to Ukraine, helping push back the Russian occupation forces from Kyiv.He added that Poland remains a key strategic partner, serving as an important logistical hub and a close ally, not only bilaterally but also within the framework of the EU and NATO. According to the ambassador, Ukraine’s victory in the war against Russia directly corresponds to Poland’s national interests.“If we look at the numbers alone—the largest Ukrainian population abroad, the delivery of essential military supplies, and political and historical dialogues—these highlight the central role Poland plays in ensuring Ukraine withstands and defends itself. Speaking frankly, it is in Poland’s national interest that Ukraine emerges victorious in this war, rather than according to the preferences of some other partners regarding future negotiations with the aggressor,” Bondar concluded.
