Oleksandr Musienko, a soldier with the Ukrainian Territorial Defense Forces, shared the information on Espreso TV.“The Novopavlivka direction is particularly threatening, especially at the junction of three regions: Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhzhia, and Donetsk, where the enemy is attempting to advance. Additional Russian units, particularly marines, have been transferred to this area, including forces from Kursk. These units had previously conducted offensive operations there but were forced to retreat, and the remnants were redeployed specifically to expand offensive operations in the Dnipropetrovsk region,” Musienko said. The soldiers outlined the objectives of Russian troops in the Dnipropetrovsk region.“These include disrupting the logistics of our forces, particularly in the Pokrovsk direction, expanding the so-called gray zone, and pursuing information and propaganda goals. The aim is to create the impression that Russian troops are advancing further. In other words, one of the enemy’s objectives in the east is to establish a degree of control over certain areas of the Dnipropetrovsk region,” the official said.He emphasized that Ukrainian units are actively countering these efforts, and that Russian troops are suffering significant losses.“They have achieved some localized successes, but for the most part, Russian forces are operating in the gray zone, where fighting is ongoing. In some areas, the enemy manages to advance or occupy positions, while in others we are able to push them back. Active combat continues, but the most important point is that there are no signs that Russian units can penetrate to operational depth — several dozen kilometers into the Dnipropetrovsk region — at this time,” the soldier added.Musienko described the nature of the fighting in the area.“The enemy is suffering significant losses, and the fighting is mainly taking place within the so-called 30-kilometer kill zone. We are constantly engaging the enemy there, though our room for maneuver is limited because of their drones and deployed forces. This is the current situation on the ground,” he concluded.Earlier, Viktor Trehubov, spokesman for Ukraine’s Dnipro troop grouping, told Espreso TV that Russian actions in the Dnipropetrovsk region are largely aimed at exerting pressure and drawing away parts of the Ukrainian Defense Forces.Commander-in-Chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Oleksandr Syrskyi, added that the situation in the Novopavlivka direction remains dynamic, and that Russia’s primary goal there is simply to declare its presence.
