President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has reported progress in destroying Russian forces on the Pokrovsk front.

Quote: "The front line – there were reports from the military today. The main focus is on the Pokrovsk front, and there are results in destroying the occupier.

I want to especially commend the units of the 79th Separate Air Assault Brigade. I also thank the warriors of the Special Operations Forces, the special forces of the Military Law Enforcement Service, the National Police, the Security Service of Ukraine, and the intelligence for their active and effective actions both in the Pokrovsk area and in the area of Kupiansk."

Details: Zelenskyy also thanked the 1st Separate Assault Regiment for their solid combat performance in Donetsk Oblast, the 55th Separate Artillery Brigade for their fire support near Pokrovsk, and the 127th Separate Heavy Mechanised Brigade for engagements in and around Kupiansk.

• On 1 November, Reuters reported, citing sources, that special forces of Defence Intelligence of Ukraine (DIU) were deployed to Donetsk Oblast's Pokrovsk earlier this week to stabilise the situation amid escalating hostilities.
• A source within Ukraine's military intelligence told Ukrainska Pravda that stabilisation operations involving DIU were ongoing in Pokrovsk.
• Oleksandr Syrskyi, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, said that Pokrovsk and Myrnohrad in Donetsk Oblast were neither surrounded nor blocked. He added that a comprehensive operation is underway in Pokrovsk to wipe out and expel Russian forces, involving Special Operations Forces, the Security Service of Ukraine and DIU.
